William "Bill"
Joseph Handschke
Apr 18, 1968 — Jan 1, 2024
Redgranite
William Joseph Handschke "Bill", age 55, of Redgranite and formerly Appleton, passed away at home on January 1, 2024 from complications of heart failure. Bill was born on April 18, 1968 in New London, WI. While growing up Bill enjoyed many visits to his grandparents' farm, hanging out with his sister and his uncle Jeff. As a young boy, Bill was always curious about how things worked; from taking things apart, fixing bikes and lawnmowers and having his own workshop.
As an adult, Bill had many jobs but working on houses and cars were just two of his many favorite interests. He owned his own business called Tri-Cities Drywall and Construction. Eventually Bill spent a lot of time building a huge garage and renovating the home that he and his wife Peggy of 26 years lived in at the time of his passing. Bill had a way to make everyone feel welcome and loved. He will be remembered by his beautiful blue eyes that he inherited from his Grandpa Handschke, his contagious laugh and his love for life and everyone that he came in contact with.
Bill will be greatly missed by his wife Peggy; stepdaughters: Krista Jost and Samantha Jost; his sister Lori (Rick) Fulcer; Grandchildren: Kenya Wigfall and Steven Anderson III; niece Jasmine Fulcer; Mother Irene Vincent Champeau; canine companion Chance; and other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his Father, David Handschke; brother-in-law Kenneth Hiles; and his beloved German Shepherd Charlie.
The family would like to thank Steven Anderson, Danny, and Vicky for their kindness and care during Bills illness along with ThedaCare Hospice. Thank you to all of Bill and Peggy's friends and entire family for their kind words, support and prayers during this difficult time.
At Bill's request, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Bill's life in their own way, raising a glass in his memory would be appropriate and instead of flowers, do an unexpected act of kindness in his name.
We love you so much Bill, until we meet again.
