Freedom
William B. Fulton, age 85, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024 at home, in his favorite recliner surrounded by family. He was lovingly known as Bill, Fuzz, and Putz to family and friends. Bill was born in Appleton on August 23, 1938, to the late David L. and Vera M. (Bartlett) Fulton.
Following High School graduation, Bill proudly served his country in the National Guard for 6 years. He attended Fox Valley Technical College for 2 years. In 1966, he was united in Marriage to Rita LeMoine. The couple enjoyed 57 years together.
In 1963, he started Fulton Service Station with his partner Dick Betti. In 1979, he moved his station from Morrison St. to the corner of Oneida and Pacific St. in Appleton, until retiring in 2000.
Bill loved woodworking and sailing. He and Rita kept a sailboat in High Cliff and Menominee, MI. They enjoyed many journeys, sailing on Lake Winnebago, Lake Michigan and especially their voyages through the North Channel in Canada. They also loved traveling in their Winnebago and visited about every state in the country. They cherished their many downhill skiing trips to Colorado.
When people would ask Bill, "How are you doing today?", his immediate response was always "Perfect".
He is survived by his Wife Rita, Appleton; five children: Kari (Tim) Plass, Legend Lake, Paul (Brenda) Jungers, Oshkosh, Kate Jackson, Appleton, Kristy Fulton, Appleton, and Anne DeLain, Appleton; 8 grandchildren: Sam (Sarah), Ben (Kim), Serena (Geoff), Sadie (friend Nathan), Kaley (Eli), Emily (friend Anthony), Brianne (friend Ethan), and Molly; 9 great-grandchildren: Lillian, Elliott, Nell, Theodore, Charlotte, William, Geoffrey, Benjamin, and Elias; 2 sisters: Sue Ahlquist and Alice (Dale) Park. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
