Obituary

Virginia was born in Gleason, WI, on June 28, 1935, to the late Ferd and Irene Kluball.  Virginia was proceeded in death by her Mother Irene, Father Ferdinand, husband Richard "Dick", brother Donald, sister Idella, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law, and a nephew Mike Schultz.

Virginia married Richard Shimek in 1957 in their church (Bethany Lutheran). He was a very loving husband and they enjoyed going to church on Saturday evenings. Together, they had three children - Wayne (Terry), Kristie (Darin) and Tim (Michelle). The best children ever, how could one be picked the favorite when they were all favorites.  She had three grandchildren - Troy, Sullivan and Lucy - and one great grandchild, Alex.  Ginny and Dick had overwhelming love for all. They had many loving nephews and nieces, as well as neighbors on Sunnyview Circle who were always there when they needed them.  Her special friends who always remembered her every holiday and Mother's Day – Lisa, Renee and Laurie.

Ginny was a member of the lady's legion auxiliary for 50 years, she worked with the helping hearts group at her church, Bethany Lutheran.  She loved anything that involved crafting. She worked at Gary's Flowerland for many years and loved flower arranging.  She went on to teach watercolor painting at Ridgeview Heights for years and met 15 of the most wonderful ladies and one man you could ever meet and considered them family.  They remained friends long after classes were done, up to her passing.  Virginia went on to take first place for a painting at the Wolf River art show.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, February 7, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 530 W. Parkway Blvd. Appleton.  Inurnment at Riverside Cemetery.  Lunch and visitation to follow until 2 PM.
