Appleton
Thomas "Tom" Albert Witzke, age 87, of Appleton, WI passed from his earthly life into the open loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on September 9, 2026. He was the only child of Albert and Mary Witzke. Tom and his loving wife Char were the proud parents of three children, Michelle (Dennis) McRae, Mark (Lisa) Witzke and Heather Witzke; and grandchildren Quintin, Dain, and Alex. He also had a daughter, Kim (Kerry) St. Amand, with his former wife, Carol Schuh, and two additional grandchildren, Danielle (Eric) Schubert and Faith St. Amand.
Tom graduated from Appleton West High School, class of 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserve until 1965. Tom married the love of his life, Charlene Witzke, on September 16, 1972, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hilbert.
He started Handyman Services and spent his entire working life as a carpenter and landlord, managing his three apartment buildings. One of his proudest accomplishments was building the Houdini exhibit at the History Museum at the Castle in Appleton.
Tom was a proud member of Faith Lutheran Church and had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ. In his younger years, Tom enjoyed camping with his family, riding his motorcycle, and sorting through his collection of coins and wheat pennies.
Tom was known for his kindness to everyone he met. He loved to talk to people. Tom also loved animals, a love that he passed on to his children.
A funeral service for Tom will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E Glendale Ave, Appleton with Pastor Dan Thews officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Historic Riverside Cemetery.
Tom will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind heart, love of family, and strong faith in Jesus Christ will forever remain a part of the lives he touched. We take comfort in knowing that he is now home with his Lord and Savior.
