Obituary

Theodore Lee Anthony (Ted) Menge entered into Eternal Life on Wednesday, January 15, after a courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease.  Ted was born in Green Bay on February 20, 1941 to Theodore and Irene (Dombroski) Menge.

Ted attended Premontre High School and Marquette University before serving in the US Air Force. Upon returning to Green Bay, he met Kathleen Simonis at a football game at Green Bay West High School, where she was an English teacher.  They married on July 13, 1968.

Ted started his career with IBM in 1967 rising from hardware repair to Program Support Team Leader after 25 years.  He spent the remainder of his working life at Kimberly Clark in the same position, retiring in 2004.

Ted had many hobbies.  He loved cards of any kind:  cribbage, sheepshead, euchre, bridge.  He spent many happy hours reading and putting together extremely difficult and often three-dimensional puzzles.  He was an avid sports fan following all levels of sports from Little League to the pros both in person and on TV.  He grew up in Green Bay during the glory years and was a proud Packer fan exemplified by owning season tickets and Packer stock.

Whatever spare time Ted had left, he engaged in multiple levels of service to the community.  He was a coach for both soccer and basketball at the grade school level.  In addition, he founded the St. Thomas More Computer Club and Lego League.  He was a member of St Thomas More for 47 years, volunteering as an usher and as the St Thomas More member of the Xavier High School Board of Education.  His primary service focus was the Knights of Columbus.  He was editor of the council newsletter for 25 years, twice Grand Knight, Tootsie Roll Campaign Chairman and established and administered the Memorial Scholarship.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, daughters Ann (Chad) DeLuka, Ellen (James) Jackson, and Susan Allen (Caleb Otieno); grandsons Eric (Samantha) Jorgensen, Andrew DeLuka, and Henry DeLuka; sister Kathleen Menge, and sister-in-law Rosemary Simonis.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Irene Menge; father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Isabel Simonis; infant son Theodore Lee Andrew Menge; and son-in-law Jonathan Allen.

Memorials to Wisconsin Parkinson's Association or Pillars of Appleton would be appreciated.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the entire staff of Primrose Silver Lace Memory Care and Moments Hospice for their compassionate and loving care for Ted.
