72, Appleton, passed away at her home with her husband at her side on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. She was born in Appleton on March 1, 1951, to the late Arthur and Doris (Kobs) Oakley. She was raised in Menasha and graduated from Menasha High School. She met Greg Verhoeven at a dance at the Country Aire and the two later wed on Sept. 15, 1973.

Dancing, ice skating, golfing, attending Packer games, Bunko with girlfriends, were some of her hobbies. Sharon enjoyed listening to her husband play guitar and sailing on Lake Winnebago, camping and going out to eat with Greg.

They were blessed with a son Kevin and his daughter, Azrielda. She is also survived by her siblings: Judy Oakley-Weinfurter, Appleton; brothers: Dick Oakley, SC, Jack (Barb) Oakley, Menasha, Gary (Gina) Oakley, FL and Jim (MariCatherine) Oakley, Neenah.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law, Carol Anne Oakley and a brother-in-law, David Weinfurter.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sharon will take place at 11 AM, on Sat. Dec. 23, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Br. Ray Stadmeyer O.F.M. Cap officiating. Friends may visit the family on Sat. directly at church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. She will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton.
