Obituary

Sandra Jean "Sandy" Kilman

Sandy passed away July 19, 2022, at the age of 83 with her family by her side. Sandy was born on January 29, 1939, in Beloit, WI to Coyne and Irma Hesgard. She married her soulmate David on October 3, 1959. Sandy had a special love for her children, rescue dogs, her garden and classic cars. You could always find her in her beautiful garden, which she took great pride in.

Sandy's caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a special gift of not only seeing the good in people but bringing out the best of them as well. Sandy was selfless and always put others first. She gracefully balanced kindness with endless strength along with a great sense of humor. She was an example to so many and a shining light to all who knew her. A true testament to her caring and nurturing character, she cared for Alzheimer patients for more than 35 years, finally retiring in 2001.

Sandy shared her love of classic cars and racing with her husband. In the 1950" s they raced sportscars at tracks like Blackhawk Farms and Road America. Some of those cars included MG's, Jaguars, Aston Martin, and Austin Healy, which she would proudly tell you about at any given time. Of course, anyone who knew her, she was especially proud of her 1961 T Bird. Sandy loved to travel. She and Dave were always traveling, but one trip in particular was to Italy with their children for their 50th anniversary and was incredibly special for them both.

Sandy is survived by her children: Eric (Jennifer) and Michael (Rick), "daughter" Rose Roth-Gajewski, sister Colleen Adamany and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by very special friends Sherry Miller, Kylie Sipple and Lesley Hofberger.

She was preceded in death by her husband David, parents Coyne and Irma Hesgard, sisters Carla, Jenny, Jackie, brothers Vincent "Moe" and Boyd and nephew Vincent (Vinnie).

Our family would also like to thank the staff at Froedtert Cancer Center for their exceptional care of our mother and Sherry Miller who came to Milwaukee to care for and be with her. We couldn't have done it without you Sherry.

A service celebrating Sandy's life will be Saturday August 20, 2022, at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel, Appleton, WI. Visitation 11-1, service at 1:00 with luncheon to follow.

I'm frozen. I'm breathless. Losing you is a pain that cannot be expressed in words. Your love is irreplaceable. There are no words that do justice to the amazing Mom you were. I miss your voice, our daily calls, your smile, your hug, your unending love. Always my strongest supporter, my rock and voice of compassion and comfort. I've never been closer to anyone. God blessed me with an angel of a mother and I'm forever grateful. I will love you forever. Mike
