Richard C. Plamann, age 93, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 18, 2025.  Richard was born in Appleton on July 26, 1931, to the late Leslie and Leona (Krueger) Plamann.

He graduated with the class of 1949 at Appleton High School.  Following high school, Richard proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force in Korea as a weatherman, achieving the rank of Staff Sargeant.

In 1955, he was united in marriage to Joyce Gibson.  The couple enjoyed 57 years together until her passing in 2012.  Richard worked as a Head Design Draftsman at Stoelting Food Service Equipment in Kiel for many years, retiring in 1990.  He was a whiz at math and enjoyed tutoring kids.  Richard also enjoyed golfing, fierce games of cribbage and sheepshead, and snowmobiling with the P & M Snowmobile Club.  He was also a member of the Appleton Evening Lions Club.

He will be missed by his three sons:  Roy Plamann, Appleton, Rick (Jennifer) Plamann, Town of Buchanan, and Michael Plamann, Greenville; 4 grandchildren:  Jessica, Christopher, Madeline, and Nicholas; a great granddaughter, Olivia; and a brother, Roger (Judy) Plamann, Stiles Junction, WI.  He is further survived by many nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Leona, wife Joyce, and brother Paul (Mary) Plamann.

A funeral service will be held at 5:30 pm on Monday, January 27th, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel.  Friends may visit at the funeral chapel on Monday from 4 pm until 5:15 pm.  Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
