Obituary

Richard Steven Bartosic

Died on October 13, 2024, in Menasha at Oak Park Place, a senior living facility. Rich was born on July 12, 1947, in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Neal John and Ragna (Hompland) Bartosic. He graduated from Xavier High School where he was a member of the hall of fame. He earned an academic scholarship to the University of Wisconsin Madison where he proudly majored in Mechanical engineering.

After graduation he joined the U.S. Army Reserve at Fort Knox where he finished basic training with the highest results in the proficiency rating of his entire company. He was invited to join the Rangers, but "saw no reason to be jumping out of perfectly good airplanes."

Rich went to work at Procter and Gamble in Green Bay where he held many positions for 18 years. He later purchased ownership interest in a small paper converting company. He shortly became the sole owner and changed the name to Alpha Prime, Inc., which he ran successfully for over 30 years. He won the Chamber's "Small Business of the Year" award three times.

He was an avid golfer and a 40-year member of Butte des Morts Country Club where he served as past president. He was an ardent supporter of the Evans Scholarship Program and helped over 30 loral caddies obtain the scholarship. He was also a long-time member of St. Bernard's Parish in Appleton, serving on their finance committee. Rich supported many charities and individuals in their time of need over the years.

Rich will be greatly missed by his sisters: Diana Bartosic Heyl, Susan (Bill) Owens, Lisa (John) McGarrity and Julie (Chuck) Floyd; a brother, Jeffry Alan (Mary) Bartosic. He was the proud and loving uncle to 15 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Oak Park Place of Menasha and Moments Hospice for their terrific, loving care.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rich will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Appleton with Auxiliary Bishop Mark Bartosic of Chicago (Rich's first cousin) officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM in the Fireside room at church until the time of Mass, followed by a luncheon in the community room at church.
