Obituary

Peggy Ann Blob, age 85, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.  She was born in Appleton on November 21, 1940, to the late Walter and Leonore (Staeben) Daniels.

Peggy graduated with the class of 1958 at Appleton High School. In 1960, she was united in marriage to James "Big Daddy" Blob. The couple enjoyed 53 years together before Jim's passing in 2013. In her earlier years, Peggy worked at Quaker Bakery and as a switchboard operator with the phone company. She then worked for many years as a receptionist in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital, a job she really enjoyed as she could engage in story time with coworkers during much of her shift.

Peggy managed to raise 8 children while working the night shift for many years at the hospital. She never got much sleep and as difficult as it was, she did not complain (too much). Along with her faith, her main priority her whole life was her children. Peggy and Big Daddy did a great job raising this big family. Thank you to them both.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her card club friends (Jeannie Levknecht-Lamers and Sandy Kasten, group members who survive her), while her family was forced to endure the never-ending cackles from the group well into the night. She enjoyed Bible study group, which she and Pam Zentner continued right up to the last days. She also loved knitting with friends while watching Dancing with the Stars. She would never pass up a chance to play rummy, sequence, bunco, or just about any card game with her kids and grandkids. The whole family looked forward to that week of summer when they would rent a cottage on lakes near Wild Rose. Peggy's greatest joy was spending time with her family, watching all the kids sporting events and taking care of her grandchildren. Peggy took care of her grandchildren into her 80's and loved every minute.

She will be terribly missed by her 8 children: Tim (Bonnie) Blob, Menasha, Todd (Jan) Blobe, Clayton, Tom (Shelli) Blob, Darboy, Troy (Sandy) Blob, Greenville, Terry (Heather) Blob, Appleton, Tricia (Jason) Haen, Appleton, Tyler (Melissa) Blob, Appleton, and Tiffany (Ross) Hartwig, Greenville; 22 grandchildren: Kelsey, Parker, Hannah, Ryan, Devon, Morgan, Brittany, Ashley, Alex, Max, Beau, Emma, Madison, Lauren, Brielle, Brendan, Brooklyn, Bennett, Madalyn, Mckenzie, Olivia, and Theo; and 10 great grandchildren: Mia, Vivian, Winona, Harper, Hallie, Cooper, Jordy, Mason, Lukas, and Jackson.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, September 12, at Riverview Lutheran Church, 136 W. Seymour St. Appleton. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9 am until 10:45 am. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The Family would like to extend a sincere thank you to special friends JeannieLevnecht-Lamers, Pam Zentner, Carol Gohl, and Jane Cardin for their friendship and support, and to the staff at Brewster Village and Dawn for their compassionate care shown to Peggy.
