Obituary

Patricia Ann (Pat) Overmyer, 91, formerly of Villa Park, IL, passed away November 4, 2023, at home in Kimberly, WI where she lived the past three years with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born March 11, 1932, in Fort Wayne, IN, the younger daughter of the late Erwin and Olive Firestine. She married David W. Overmyer on October 18, 1952, in Ft. Wayne, IN. He preceded her in death in 2010.

For most of her working years, Pat was a staff member in the administrative office of School District #48 and developed many pastimes. Pat was artistically gifted and beautifully decorated her home for each holiday. She also loved to read and participate in book groups. During warmer months she enjoyed golf with family and friends as well as spending countless hours outside tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

Pat was a long-time member of Community Congregational Church in Villa Park and stayed connected online following her move. There she shared her time and talents playing in the Bell Choir; decorated the church for many special events; and helped to make the church gardens and grounds beautiful.

A longtime fan of the Chicago Bulls, she became an avid follower of the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks while living in Wisconsin and loved to attend concerts of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She also volunteered with her daughter at Loaves & Fishes of the Fox Valley and Ferber Elementary School in Appleton.

Pat is survived by her children, Amy (Dayton) Henderson of Kimberly, WI; Bonnie (Robert) Dormer of Alexandria, VA; and Neil (Carrie) Overmyer of Farmer City, IL.; her grandchildren, Laura (Greg) Meronk, Kate (Sam) O'Connor; Adam (Natalie) Burkhardt, Claire (Austin) Leedy, and Michael Dormer; Bridgette (Michael) Sheppard, Brenda (Kevin) Price, Jackie (Jake) Froelich, and Steven (Adrienne) Overmyer; and 18 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Pastor Sue Detterman, Betty Behegan, Pat Stimmell, Elaine Manchen, Donna Rich, Linda Carpenter and Chris Simms for their many years of friendship and support. Thanks also to ThedaCare Hospice and Home Instead for their compassionate care.

Interment is planned at a later date in Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook, IL, during a private gathering of family and friends.
