Nehemiah Marvin
Vangroll
Jan 29, 2024 — Apr 13, 2024
Appleton
Nehemiah Marvin VanGroll passed away on Saturday April 13, 2024, at Children's Hospital Milwaukee peacefully with his Mama and Dada by his side. Nehemiah came flying into this world before the doctor was even ready on January 29, 2024. He was taken to Children's hospital that night and diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. At 1 week old he had his first open heart surgery. Every nurse said he knew how to get everyone's attention, and he was one of the sassiest, most dramatic, CICU patients they have ever had. Nehemiah loved being talked to, held, and heaven forbid his shusher shut off. His Mama and Dada think he had the most beautiful smile.
Nehemiah is survived by his Mom and Dad, Aaron and Alyson VanGroll. He is also survived by his big sister Rosemary (aka Rosie) VanGroll, Grandparents Dan (Caroll) VanGroll, Jim (Tammy) Hartley, Eric (Lanan) Verhagen, Aunts and Uncles Adam (special friend Augie) Hartley, Kristina Hartley, Samantha Hartley, Sarah (Deaven) Halbach, Tony (Jessie) VanGroll, Jen VanGroll, and Amber VanGroll.
Nehemiah is further survived by Great Grandparents Ron (Cheryl) Dixon, Lynn Verhagen, Mary VanGroll, and Debra (Alan) Kuehne, Cousins Nova, Everleigh (aka Evie), Alexander (aka Xander), Grayson, Alaina (aka Lainey), Jeremiah, Jacob, Henry, and Scarlett, his church grandparents Cindy and Brian Schmidt, and special aunt and uncle Maloree (Kevin) Lazor, as well as a few wonderful Great Aunts and Uncles.
Nehemiah is preceded in death by Great Grandparents Marvin VanGroll, James Hartley Sr, Nancy Peterson, and Denis Verhagen.
A memorial service for Nehemiah will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at MillCity Church, 120 N Lake Street, Neenah, with Pastor Steve Spence officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Nehemiah's Mom and Dad want to extend a special thank you to the staff in the CICU at Children's hospital Milwaukee especially Dr. David Segar, Dr. Stephanie Handler, Dr. Mitchell, Dr Jake Scott, Dr Bergstrand, nurses Mark, Katelyn, Mike, and Megan D, Speech therapist Katherine Frontier, and Justinn and Jena Tanem for loving their son like their own.
