Nancy Jean
Seidl
Feb 7, 1946 — Apr 14, 2026
Menasha
Nancy Jean Seidl, 80, of Menasha, Wisconsin, died peacefully on April 14, 2026. If there was one thing that defined Nancy, it was her love for her family and her pride in her children and grandchildren.
She was born on February 7, 1946 in Appleton, to Gordon and Catherine "Kay" Heule, the third of ten kids. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Dan. She is survived by her siblings, Marilyn, Sharon, Carol, Diane, Gord, Kathy, Debbie, and Jean. Growing up, their home was filled with music, games and a lot of laughter. That musical bond endured throughout her life; even as adults, Nancy and her sisters met regularly to sing. A cherished family tradition featured them performing a special song at the weddings of their nieces and nephews—a gesture that rarely left a dry eye in the room.
In 1967 Nancy Jean Seidl married Gerald "Jerry" Seidl and together they had two children. Following Jerry's untimely passing in 1978, Nancy remained a constant for her two children, determined to raise them in a stable home where family always came first.
Nancy worked at a paper mill for over 40 years, dedicated to providing for her family as a single mom. She took on many roles during her time there, eventually retiring as Safety Coordinator. Whether she was working as the Union Secretary or leading a safety meeting, Nancy was a respected and positive leader. More than anything, she enjoyed the people she worked with. Those friendships lasted long into her retirement, and she looked forward to their birthday lunches and the chance to catch up on each other's lives.
Outside of work and home, she was the type of person who cared about the well-being of others. Whether she was sending a card in the mail, picking up the phone, or just stopping by to say hello, Nancy could always be counted on when she was needed most.
Her legacy lives on through her children, Melissa Seidl and Adam Seidl; her four grandchildren, Zoe Moss, Trajan Bitner, Saoirse Seidl Sullivan, and Tuilelaith Seidl Sullivan; and her great-grandson, Earnest Moss. Nancy lit up when she talked about any one of them and celebrated everything: graduations, straight A's, new jobs, and even the small, funny moments, like laughing over Ernie's surprising love for radicchio.
Honoring Nancy's wishes, she has been cremated and there will be no formal services at this time. Her family asks that you honor her by remembering a time she made you laugh and by taking a quiet moment to enjoy the lilacs when they bloom this spring.
