Obituary

Nancy Rand 84 of Appleton, WI died on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Aspire Assisted Living in Kimberly, WI. Nancy was born in Shawano, WI on May 1, 1940, the daughter of Raymond and

Rosa Lee (Dowen) Donaldson. Nancy served her country in the U.S. Navy where she met and married Larry Rand in 1967. Following active duty, she joined the WAVES and served through the seventies.  She earned her nursing degree and later became a P.A. with a neurosurgeon. She finished her professional career as an AODA counselor and "retired" in 2002.

Nancy loved her Green Bay Packers. She took great pride in being a shareholder and attending the annual shareholder's meeting. This lady was fearless! She loved a great adventure & could never stay in one place for long. She and Larry snowmobiled across Yellowstone and went white water rafting well into their sixties. She loved sewing (she could create anything), knitting (donated hundreds of baby caps), & classical music (her singing finches were named Caldwell & Bernstein). She was an avid reader and genealogist (published a family history).  She was a big personality and lived a big life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Rosa Lee, her "partner in crime" Larry and her "baby brother" Tom.

Nancy is survived by her daughters: Rebecca Rand of Appleton and Nancy "Lee" Voss (Jeff) of Mt. Horeb. Her granddaughters: Ryan (Brian) Bohan of Boston and Erin Kearney (Collin) of Port Washington, her great grandchildren Callahan and Finley, her Aunt Doris Donaldson of  Florida, her sister-in-Law  Bev Donaldson of Duluth, many dearly loved nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Peanut.

A service will be held in the spring at Veteran's Memorial Park in Spooner WI.
