Myrene C. Diestler

91, Appleton, passed away on Sept. 30, 2023, at Brewster Village. She was born on March 6, 1932, in New London to the late Alvin and Veva (Walker) Hoffman. Myrene married LaVern on Oct. 31, 1953. She worked at AAL 'Thrivent' in the cashier's services department.

Myrene enjoyed bowling with her husband, golfing, cooking, pandas, crossword puzzles and game shows. Her family enjoyed time spent up north in Lakewood and road trips to Yellowstone, New York, Florida and Arizona. She volunteered with the DAV, Disabled Veterans Auxiliary. She was a longtime and active member of Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her two sons: Brian and Mark; brother, Reuben (Nancy) Hoffman; sister, Nelda Heiman and many nieces and nephews.

Myrene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brothers: Aaron and Marvin; sister-in-law: Rachel Hoffman, brother-in-law, Harold Heiman and good friend Dottie Engbloom.

Funeral services for Myrene will be held at 11 AM on Wed. Oct. 4, 2023, at Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy Wagner officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 at church until the time of service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Brewster Village, Riverview Church, and Alzheimer's research.
