Mary J.
Wehrman
Apr 25, 1944 — Oct 10, 2022
On Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by her family's love, Mary left her pain and illness behind to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. She was born to the late Edward and Birdie (Bodoh) McHugh on April 25, 1944. Mary was a graduate of Shiocton High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, Kenneth W. Wehrman on October 3, 1964, in Stephensville. Mary worked for the Wisconsin Electric Power Company before becoming a mother and homemaker and later worked as a seamstress for 12 years at the Bridal Event in Appleton.
Mary enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers, spending time boating and fishing, bowling, going out to breakfast with friends, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and watching them participate in various activities.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ken; her daughters and sons-in-law: Paula and Tim Lamers of Appleton and Penny and Terry Flaherty of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren: Zack Lamers, Katie Lamers, and Olivia Flaherty; brother Ken McHugh; sisters Delores and William Sorenson of New London and Kathy Prunty of Appleton; brother-in-law Harold Surprise; sister-in-law Carol DeWall and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Marcie Surprise, and her mother-in-law Elda Van Handel.
A Funeral Service for Mary will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at MOUNT OLIVE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E Florida Ave, Appleton, with Pastor Robert Raasch officiating. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
Our family will always be grateful for our angels at Moments Hospice, Christina, Brittany, and Christina, for their loving care of Mary. We are thankful for wonderful family, friends and neighbors for their kindness and support.
