Mary Elizabeth
Tetting
Sep 10, 1943 — Feb 15, 2025
Appleton
Mary Elizabeth Tetting, of Appleton, age 81, was called to her heavenly home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Silverstone Memory Care. She was born on September 10, 1943, in Little Falls, MN to the late Raymond and Dolores (Murphy) Vaillant. Mary grew up in Cloquet, MN and attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and Cloquet High School, graduating in 1961. She then attended St. Theresa College in Winona and acquired a teaching degree. Her first job was in Milwaukee, WI and that is where she met the love of her life, Dr. Richard Tetting. They married on July 29, 1967, and spent two years in California while Richard was in the Air Force.
They eventually moved to Appleton, where Richard started his dental practice. It was there that they raised their three sons. She was a professional seamstress and loved: pottery, sewing, dichroic glass, quilting and needlepoint to name a few. Mary was a very creative soul. She and Richard were lifelong members of St. Mary Catholic Church, Appleton.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard of 57 years; three sons: Paul (Faith) Tetting and their children: Ethan, Bryce, Maren and Addison; Ross (Teresa) Tetting and their children: Téa (fiancé, George), Parker and Raelyn; Ryan (Jill) Tetting and their children: Cooper (Olivia), Coby and Conor; a brother, Steve (Vickey) Vaillant; a sister-in-law, Diane Davis as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, 'Butch' Davis.
Private family services were held, and she was laid to rest at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's name may be directed to the Green Valley Parkinsons Group ( https://gvparkinsons.org/donate/ or mail to P.O. The family wishes to thank the staff of Silverstone Memory Care and Moments Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Mary and her family.
Mary lived her life in accordance with Romans 12:9; "Love must be sincere. Hate what's evil; cling to what is good".
