Lindore "Lindy" J. Young, age 92, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, November 15, 2024, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.  Lindy was born in Appleton on September 5, 1932, to the late Joseph and Veronica (Lorge) Young.
In 1975, he was united in marriage to Priscilla Blahnik.  The couple enjoyed 49 years together.  Lindy worked in maintenance for the City of Appleton Parks and Recreation Department for many years, retiring in 1996.  He was a proud member of the Teamsters.  In his younger days, he did some photography work for the Green Bay Press Gazette.   He was a Cub Scout Master for Troop 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1989 and Boy Scout Master for Troop 2 at First United Methodist Church from 1992 to 1998.  He loved camping, canoeing (including several trips to the boundary waters), hiking with his wife, working in his pond/yard and just about all other things in the outdoors.  He was a Packer fan and enjoyed going to games win or lose.
Lindy will be missed by his wife, Priscilla, Neenah; two sons, Aaron (Lisa) Young and their daughters Josie, Grace, and Helen (Sauk City), and son Brandon (fiancé Cassie) Young and his daughter Juliet, Brillion.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Veronica.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 20th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St. Appleton.  Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at church on Wednesday from 10 am until 10:45 am.
