Obituary

LeRoy C. London, age 86, of Appleton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving daughters on Sunday, January 21st, 2024, at Carolina Assisted Living in Appleton.  LeRoy was born in Appleton on November 2, 1937, to the late Clifton and Margaret (LaPlante) London.

LeRoy graduated with the class of 57 at Appleton High School.  On October 22, 1960, he was united in marriage to Donna Deltgen.  The couple enjoyed 52 years together until Donna's passing in 2012.  He worked as a graphic designer at the Post Crescent for 35 years, retiring in 1999.

Leroy loved to sing.  He sang with the Barbershoppers, the Christmas and Easter Stars, and the choir at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where he and Donna were parishioners for many years.  He also enjoyed fishing, puzzles, playing cribbage, bird watching, and gardening – but most of all, LeRoy enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his three daughters:  Barb (special friend Tom) Lutz, Kaukauna, Jill (Ken) Steckbauer, Coloma, WI, and Denise (Robert) Vande Voort, Appleton; son, Tim (Laura) London, Florida; 8 grandchildren:  Jacob, Rachel, Levi (Vanessa), Terian, Greysen, John, Kent (Nicole), and Tristin; 5 great grandchildren:  Tyce (Lindsey), Josh, Noah, Kara, and Dexter; brother, Denny (Julie) London, Chico, CA; sister, Mary Schueler, Richfield, WI; brother-in-law, Dan (Mary) Deltgen, Mountain, WI; and sister-in-law, Carol Deltgen, Charleston, SC.  He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Margaret, his wife Donna, in-laws, William and Barbara Deltgen, and 2 brothers-in-law Dave Deltgen and Ed Schueler.

A memorial service will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 27, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton, with Father Larry Seidl officiating.  Friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 10 am until 11:15 am.  Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
