Menasha
We mourn the loss of our beloved Leonard "Lenny" Francis Salm, age 57, who passed away on April 27, 2025, due to an unfortunate accident. He was the beloved son of Harold "Ringo" Salm and Mary Boyle. He was born in Appleton, WI, on December 22, 1967.
Lenny was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, generosity, and adventure. His sudden passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived his life, the generosity he showed everyone and for the positive impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Lenny was a kind, caring, and generous person who touched the lives of so many. Lenny met the love of his life, Nicole, in 1988, they were married March 4th of 1995. Lenny is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Nicole Sigler-Salm, their two sons, Cole (Kaylee) Salm, Riley (Brooke) Salm, as well as their beautiful daughter, Ava Salm; their 4 dogs and 2 cats which brought him so much joy; his 2 sisters, Sally (Rob) Stark, Lindy (Clay) Verhagen; mother-in-law, Sandra Marcoe, 3 sister-in-laws, Diana (Dan) Peterson, Susan Sigler, Alison (Chris) Eiche, 1 brother-in-law, Sam (Heidi) Sigler, nieces and nephews, Megan, Haley, Josh (Heidi), Katrina, Brice (Melanie), Shawn (Michelle), Seth, Kalvin (Brooke), Jack, Max and Sammy. Lenny will be forever cherished and remembered by his best friends, JP (Cheryl) Peters and David "Hickey" (Julie) Hickinbotham, and their children, McKinna, Hudson, Megan, and Drew. He will be missed by the countless more family and friends who were fortunate enough to have had Lenny in their lives.
Lenny graduated from Appleton West High School in 1986. He then went on to play football at UW-Stout. After 1 year, Lenny came home to help his dad Ringo with Salm Plumbing. Lenny worked side by side with his dad until 2005 when his father passed. Lenny took over the business and continued to build relationships with customers to be like family. Lenny took great pride in taking care of others and was always there to help in a moment's notice. Our appreciation goes out to all families who helped and worked with us to build this business to where it is now, especially Jared Theunis and Howard Johannes! Two of the Very Best Employees out there. We thank you for your dedication and loyalty.
Lenny loved his family more than anything in life. His other favorite activities included golf, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. Whether by himself, or with family and friends, he always had a good time. Some of the best memories with him were Up North. Hunting was a tradition Lenny always looked forward to. This yearly tradition will continue in honor of the great times with Lenny.
Those who knew Lenny will remember him for his generous, welcoming smile and his enormous dedication to help all those around him. His life will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. Lenny was a rare soul who was "just about perfect".
