LaVerne M. Tetzlaff, 98, died at home September 5, 2024. She was born August 16, 1926, in Appleton, WI, the fourth of eight children of Daniel and Erna (Kuehnl) Boldt. LaVerne attended Zion Lutheran School from the age of four for 10 years. She graduated from Appleton High School (West) in 1944 and sang in a double quartet at graduation. She married James M. Tetzlaff on July 24, 1959 and they were married 59 years when he died December 26, 2018.

LaVerne never allowed her physical challenges to keep her from achieving her goals. She participated in singing, dance, and sports from childhood to adulthood. She raised her five children and retired from Zwickers Knitting Mills.

LaVerne is the last living member of her family of origin. She is predeceased by her husband, James, and son, Jimmy. She is survived by her son, Johnny, and three daughters, Jacquelyn Tetzlaff, U. S. Air Force Major (retired) Jennifer Halter, and Jan Tetzlaff, 8 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
