Laura Marie
Mares
Jan 24, 1980 — Nov 28, 2021
Laura Marie Mares, age 41, passed away in her sleep peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, November 28th, 2021. Laura was born in Denver, Colorado on January 24, 1980. She had an extremely rare genetic disorder (Micro Chromosome Deletion) that was finally diagnosed in 2015. This was a shock but it finally gave us some much wanted answers to all of the challenges she faced and why. We have peace knowing she is in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a new healthy body, ailment free.
Laura was employed at Goodwill for 19 yrs. She moved to the Darboy store in Jan of 2008 when it opened. She was proud to be one of the original employees that opened the store. During that time she made many friends that she adored and loved to work with.
She enjoyed her entertainment whether watching 1 of her 400+ CDC/DVD's, listening/singing/dancing to music even though she couldn't carry a tune she did not care she would just sing away or talking on the phone to her family and friends. Some of her most precious time was spent with her brother Colton. He was her idol and her biggest advocate; she would get so excited when he would just come over to visit with her and especially when her niece and nephew accompanied him. Laura loved her outings, when she was able to get on the back of the Harley, her shopping excursions to Walmart and going out to eat.
We are going to miss her famous lines she always said to us: "Hi it's me, Laura", when she called you, then before hanging up "I love you, it's Laura". " Hey Daddy O" when Pat would come home and "Bro" when her brother walked thru the door. Considering all of the challenges she faced she was a positive happy go lucky gal. Her smile would light up the room and her enthusiasm was infectious.
Laura is survived by her parents Patrick and Peggy Kain, brother Colton Kain (niece Koko and nephew Kai), grandparents Leona Herbelin of Ontario, California, Lonnie Larmer of Neenah, Penny Mares of Lakewood, Colorado and Edna Baross of Appleton. With very large families she also leaves behind MANY aunts, uncles and cousins whom she all adored as they did her. She had many friends she considered as family.
Her grandfather Robert Mares precedes her in death along with her uncles; Lonnie Jr. "Butch" and Kevin Larmer. Her great grandparents; Leo & Evelyn Herbelin, Clyde and Ruth Larmer, Andrew and Delores Mares, Sid and Eileen Lyke. A very special cousin Cheryl Stringer whom she considered and referred to as her aunt. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life/Birthday Party will be held on Jan 29th at Old 41 Saloon 293 S Green Bay Rd, Neenah, WI 54956 from 11:00 a.m until 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service with the Celebration of Life/Birthday Party continuing after the service. Lunch will be provided with 2 of her favorite dishes, Burrata's and Lasagna and one last birthday cake. She loved her birthday and what a better way to say our final good bye along with a final toast. In honor of Laura please wear something with purple, any shade this is her favorite color.
Psalm 100:4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, Andinto His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him,andbless His name.
ROMANS 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's."
I Never Left You
I watch you every day I'm always very near I know deep in your heart You realize I am here
I watch you while you sleep In your bed at home I hear you when you speak to me
When you're on your own.
You cannot understand The reason why I have gone But I will never leave you I'm always there to keep you strong.
Talk to me I hear you Though you may not see We share an unbroken bond That will always be.
Death won't keep us apart For our love is forever Just remember me in your heart And one day we will be together.
Live your life and live it full Don't waste a single day Remember I'm always with you Every step of the way
