Lari Le "Pookie" Behm, age 66, of Appleton, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton on Thursday, August 31st, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Pookie was born in Appleton on August 24th, 1957, to the late Marian (Karschney) and Earl Zwicker.  She attended Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL.  While visiting Appleton to take care of her late grandparents, Emma and Arthur Karschney, she met the love of her life, Robert Behm Sr.  Pookie and Bob were united in marriage on October 19th, 1974, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton.  The couple have enjoyed over 50 years together.  Pookie worked at Ben Franklin for years.  She took great pride in her housekeeping and being the best wife, mother, and grandmother, she could be.  She loved working with crafts and ice skating – but most of all, Pookie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the cookouts and camping trips.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Robert Behm, Appleton; daughters Larissa (Ryan Gray) Gray (Behm) and Lilly Behm, both of Appleton; five sons:  Robert (fiancé Humberto Garcia Jr.) Behm Jr., Chatsworth, CA, James Behm, Appleton, Jonathan (Samantha Schultz and her daughter Tayha Zich) Behm, Appleton, Brian Behm, Appleton, and Jordan (November) Behm, and their daughter Natalie, of Appleton; brother, Scott (Debbie) Zwicker, Spring Grove, IL; sister, Heidi Nelson, Marinette, WI, and her furry children, Binx, Chicklet, Cooper, Gracie, Meeko, Misty and Tucker.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mark, and sister Robin Behrendt.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 8th, at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave., Appleton, with Rev. Daniel Thews officiating.  Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9 am until 10:45 am.  Service will be held at 11 am with luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
