Kristiane Dietz (Rigden), age 80, of Seymour passed away and went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in Green Bay.  She was born July 31, 1943, in Appleton, the oldest daughter of a family of seven siblings born to the late Charles and Mabel (Thompson) Rigden.

Kristiane attended school at Columbus Elementary School before transferring to St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School.  Her remaining years in school were spent at Appleton West High School where she graduated in May of 1961.  While in high school, Kristiane became a member of the school chorus and future homemaker's club.  During that last year in high school, Kristiane took it on herself to gather information from the newspaper on events that fellow classmates took part in.  She has many scrapbooks put together from all that information through the years.  The class had designated her as its historian.  This was a labor of love for her.  On August 5, 1961 Kristiane was united in marriage to Wendell Dietz.  They enjoyed 38 wonderful years together.  Kristiane enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, writing to pen pals all over the country since the fall of 1966.  She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, enjoyed classic country music, all things Elvis, putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage, bowling online and working on her late husband's family genealogy which was another labor of love.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Kristiane is survived by her three sons: Edward of Stevens Point, Joseph of Seymour, Wendell Jr. of Stevens Point; four daughters: Teresa (Alan) Valley of Seymour, Annette Dietz of Stevens Point, Katherine (Kelly) Oehler of Colfax WI and Angela (Robert) McKinnion of Athens AL.  She is further survived by sisters: Nichole Rigden, Jacqueline Garvey of Appleton and Kathleen Rigden (Erik Brown) of Virginia; brothers: Daniel (Darleen) Rigden of Wautoma and Tom (Julie Jones) Rigden of Appleton/Naples FL.  Kristiane is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, another on the way and three step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stillborn brother in July of 1961, her son Paul in May of 1966, her father Charles in May of 1999, her husband Wendell in October of 1999, her mother Mabel in March of 2003 and her son Lawrence in November of 2022.

A Memorial Service for Kristiane will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, at BRETTSCHNIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N.  Oneida Street, Appleton with Pastor Don Olson officiating.  Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. with a meal to follow. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
