Kim Joseph
Davies
May 25, 1951 — Feb 15, 2025
Neenah
Kim Joseph Davies, 73 years old, passed away on Saturday, February 15th, 2025. Kim was born on May
25th, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Norman E. and Maxine (Gilmore) Davies. Kim grew up in Columbus, graduating from Whetstone High School in 1969, playing several sports as a kid and high schooler, as well as developing his love of art. He also enjoyed and valued learning to cook from his grandmother, Ethel Gilmore. Kim attended Urbana (OH) College and the Ohio State University, earning multiple diplomas, and eventually pursued a Ph.D. in Adult Education.
His love of Ohio State athletics and his desire to cheer them on and know the stories behind the players and coaches were always on display. Always the adventurous sort, he lived his life in a curious way, wanting to learn all he could about the world and all the people who crossed his path. He was a committed activist, championing causes that helped the environment, animals, and economically disadvantaged and underserved persons. His love of education, which included wanting to help his nieces and nephews with course selections in college, and his love of the visual arts process leave no doubt about his spirit of building, creating, and wanting to pour into others.
He spent the Later part of his life in Wisconsin, enjoying nature, painting, and eventually working on his home in Neenah. He enjoyed riding his bike, kayaking, and walking throughout the area surrounding Neenah and Lake Winnebago. He was truly happy and at peace living there and being a part of the community.
Kim will always be remembered as a great storyteller and keeper of the Davies family history and lineage, researching the family all the way back to its European origins. His love of the family's history, the funny anecdotes of his youth and his pets, and his role as "Uncle Kim," were his ways of showing his love of life and the funny ways that it teaches us lessons. If you had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Kim, he undoubtedly le] an impression on you.
Kim is survived by his sister, Denise (Davies) Jones, and brother, Jon (Jodee Flynt-) Davies, by his nieces and nephews, Joanne (John) Agnelli, Jeffrey (Christy) Jones, Stephen Davies, Jonathan Jones, Jennifer (Jason) Luciow, Allison Davies, Jared (Katherine) Gogek, Flynt Davies, Blake (Alex) Davies-Zietek, and Kai Davies, and his great nieces and nephews Jordan Jones, Alyssa Jones, Megan Luciow, Jonah Luciow, Amanda Agnelli, Jorja Agnelli, WyaT Agnelli, and Ariadne Davies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Michael Davies.
Please consider a donation in Kim's name to the Fox Valley Humane Association, N 115, Two Mile Rd., Appleton, WI 54914.
