Kevin F. McCready, age 71, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Kevin was born in Fond du Lac on January 14, 1951, to the late John G. and Pearl L. (Swinehart) McCready. He graduated with the class of 1969 at LP Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac. Kevin was drafted during the Vietnam War, and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army for 10 years. Following his military service, he attended the U. W. La Crosse, and received his BS in 1985. On August 28th, 1986, he was united in marriage to Janet Marx. Kevin retired from Edward D. Jones after working as a financial advisor for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and traveling.

He will be missed by his wife of 36 years, Janet McCready, of Appleton; two daughters: Sarah McCready, Boston and Elise (Fiancé Patrick Laycox) McCready, Appleton; son Conor McCready, Appleton; 2 brothers: James (Mary) McCready, Campbellsport, WI and Kelley (Anne) McCready, Colorado Springs; 6 sisters and brothers-in-law: Maureen Marx-Kilgore, Tom Steffen, Constance (George) Fechhelm, Roberta (Brian) Shea, Charles Marx, and Michael (Amy) Marx; and mother-in-law Barbara Marx. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Meeghan Saiberlich, infant brothers John Patrick McCready and Michael Patrick McCready, nephew Seamus McCready, and sister-in-law Debbie Steffen.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Monday, September 12, at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for UNICEF.
