Karl Edward
Otto
Feb 28, 1957 — Dec 14, 2020
On December 14, 2020, Karl E. Otto, age 63, went to be with his daughter Mackenzie on her eternal birthday, with his family and beloved dogs by his side. Karl was born on February 28, 1957 in Appleton, to Bernice Kohanski and the late Thomas Otto. He married the love of his life Sheila (Lemke) Otto, on March 31, 1979.
Karl graduated from Menasha high school, class of 1975. He worked his career in the paper mills as a millwright electrician. Karl's hobbies included: deer hunting, woodworking and tinkering with cars and his beloved Harley. He was a proud member of the Righteous Riders Bike Club and loved rides to Sturgis.
His favorite spot was at Boulder Lake with his family, where he enjoyed fishing and sharing laughs around the campfire. Anyone who knew Karl knew his tough exterior was a facade; he was nothing but a big teddy bear who loved everyone.
Karl is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sheila, and his five children: Nicole (Mike) McCormick, Stephanie (Mike) Stoegbauer, Alexandria (Andrew) Minster, Michaela (Ken Bedora) Otto and Nathan Otto. Karl adored his five grandchildren: Patrick and Torin McCormick, Ellie and Ethan Stoegbauer and Aria Minster. They will remember grandpa's never-ending sucker jar.
He is further survived by his mother Bernice Kohanski, his siblings: Kim Carow, Kurt (Brenda) Otto, Kraig (Eileen) Otto, Kip (Amy) Otto, Kevin Otto, Jason (Carey) Halverson, and JoAnn Meyers; his in-laws: Mary Pouwels, Jennifer (Corey) Hieptas, Jim Lemke (Rebecca Rosa), John (Cheryl) Trent, Linda Thiede, Lisa Lemke. Along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Karl was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mackenzie, father, Thomas Otto, mother-in-law Jackie Jokinen, father-in-law Alvin Lemke Sr, and brother-in-law Alvin Lemke Jr.
Due to Covid-19, there will be private family services held. A special thank you to Dr. Dernlan and his staff, especially nurse Tracy.
