Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Peterman, a devoted wife, loving sister, true friend and compassionate nurse. Karen passed away on September 18th, 2024, from heart failure.

Karen was a beloved wife to her husband, Scott, and a cherished sister to her siblings. She was also an inspiring Aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was a source of support and love to her family.   Karen was a dedicated and skilled nurse who spent her career caring for others with kindness and empathy. Karen's patients and colleagues were touched by her unwavering commitment to provide the best possible care. Karen's compassion and reach to support others extended far beyond direct patient care. She was an animal enthusiast and a passionate advocate for animal welfare, supporting the work of the national Humane Society as well as the Fox Valley Humane Association.  Karen was an active donor and enthusiast of the St. Jude Society.

Karen also had an artistic gift and she enjoyed creating elaborate memory albums, capturing the beauty of life's moments in a unique and creative way. Her artistic talents brought joy to those around her and left a lasting impression on all who beheld her creations. She also spent 30 years creating and painting a Christmas village that she shared with her friends and family throughout the Holiday Season Annually.

Karen's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire those she touched. She will be deeply missed and remembered fondly by her family, friends and colleagues.

A Memorial service to celebrate Karen's life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Noon at Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10AM. In honor of Karen's memory, the family kindly requests that in addition to your thoughts and prayers, donations can be made to the Fox Valley Humane Association @www.foxvalleypets.org.  Flowers may also be sent to the funeral home to commemorate Karen's life and the beauty she brought to the world.
