78, Appleton, passed away on December 4, 2025, at Brewster Village. She was born on May 17, 1947, in Appleton, to the late Samuel W. (LaVahn) Miles. Kaaren had a beautiful voice and was very active in many musicals at Appleton West High School where she graduated in 1965. She attended Oshkosh University and studied opera under Karl Brock. She also spent time in Boston studying under Phyllis Curtain. She was in many operas and traveled to many places throughout the world during her singing career.

From 1973 to 1980 Kaaren sang with various bands and was an entertainer in Pensacola, FL, where she met her husband, Bill. They were married on June 15, 1980. They moved to Indiana for Bill's job in the Army, and he later passed away in 1995.

Kaaren moved back to Appleton and worked at Lane Bryant and the Piggly Wiggly until her health forced her to retire.

She will be greatly missed by her siblings: Scott (Yolanda) Miles of Clintonville, Jess (Patricia) Miles of Florida and Marcia (Richard) Hoffman of Appleton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.

Kaaren was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill, a brother, Kurt and her nephew and god-son, Corey Miles-Hoffman.

A Memorial Service for Kaaren will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mary Bauer officiating. Friends may visit the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Historic Riverside Cemetery along with her husband.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Brewster Village who cared for Kaaren for the last 13 years; they were like family to her. And a special thank you to Moments Hospice for their compassionate care.
