Jody Lamont Starks, age 52, of Sherwood, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 18, 2023, following a brief illness.  Jody was born in Chicago on December 3, 1971, to Elaine Starks and Andre Taylor. He graduated at Oak Park River Forest High School in Illinois with the class of 1990.  Jody's professional career started in summer 1990 (Wisconsin) in a construction apprenticeship program that extended from roofing to a licensed concrete finisher on major projects in Arizona and Wisconsin.  Since 2004, Jody's second career was "Pit Master" involving catering of small and large events. He owned and operated his very own, Teddy B's BBQ.  On October 12, 2019, Jody was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jami Foote.  He enjoyed any and all traveling, competing in BBQ competitions (and winning!), watching the Chicago Bears, but most of all, Jody loved spending time with his family and friends.

He will be missed and survived by his wife, Jami, Sherwood; his daughter, Brianna Starks (John Feely) (Florida); son, Deven Sutton, (Florida); stepdaughter, Kylie Foote (Sherwood); grandson, Archer; mother, Elaine Starks, (Phoenix); father, Andre Taylor, (Phoenix), sister Tiffany Jenkins; mother and father-in-law Ruth and Lyndon Foote, (Neenah); and sister-in-law, Shawn Foote, (Weyauwega). Jody had a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and a large extended family who all will miss him ever so much.

A memorial service will take place at 3:30 pm on Saturday, December 30th at the Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel.  Friends may visit the funeral chapel on Saturday from 1 pm until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.  Please direct memorials in care of Jami to Brettschneider Trettin- Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 N.
