James W. Bixler

age 74 of Appleton, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023. Jim was born February 6, 1949, and was adopted by Julie and Winton Bixler from Mishawaka, IN. Growing up he was surrounded by a loving family who had a passion for baseball - especially the White Sox. From playing the game himself, to being a youth coach, to just sitting with an iced tea watching his favorite team play on TV - Jim always had a smile on his face when it came to baseball.

After high school Jim attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree and met his wife-to-be. He relocated to Wisconsin to start his career and parenthood. Jim was a city planner for a small town and later a night auditor in Appleton. Though he and his wife divorced he was the proud father of two children, Matt Bixler and Elizabeth (Buffy Bixler) Nelson.

He is survived by his two children and four grandchildren: Alexis Bixler, Kathryn Nelson, Jocelyn Nelson and Lauren Nelson.

Private family services will be held and Jim's final resting place will be with his mother Julia Bixler at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka, IN.
