Sackenheim
Jan 30, 1935 — Oct 23, 2022
Iris Joan Sackenheim
87 of Appleton, heard the voice of her Savior on October23, 2022, say, "Well done, good faithful servant." Iris was born in Appleton, WI to the late Myron and Della (Griese) Anderson on January 30, 1935. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. Iris was a graduate of Valparaiso University where she met her husband, Lynn.On August 24, 1957, she married Lynn Sackenheim at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wisconsin. Iris, just like herhusband, devotedherself to the young people at Fox Valley Lutheran High School. For 43 years she taught English classes and in later years also taught Spanish. For many years she served as the advisor for "Cross and Crown", the school yearbook. She made a significantand lasting impact on over 4000 students who sat in her classroom.
Iris loved her Lord and her Lutheran church. She knew she was a sinner, and she knew she was saved by Jesus. Even after she could no longer attend church, she listened faithfully to services on the radio on Sunday mornings and followed along in her hymnal. She had a special love for mission work and supported the gospel ministry of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. She was confident of the home her Savior had won for her in heaven and prayed that God would hasten the day she would see Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lynn in 2015.
