Irene "Susie" P. Christensen, age 76, of Appleton, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at her home.

Susie was born in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England on October 22nd, 1947, to the late Frank and Ethel (Reed) Fellowes.  She spent her early childhood and her school days growing up in England.  In 1966, at the age of 19, Susie came to America where she became a nanny and settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  While there she met John Reinking, whom she married in 1971.  They were married for 12 years.  Years later, she met Craig Christensen and in 1987 they were married.  Together they moved to Appleton in 1990.  They enjoyed 26 years together before Craig's passing in 2013.

Susie held many positions over the course of her life. She excelled at customer service work and her personality was well suited to working with the public.  Since moving to Appleton, she has worked at Rustic Woods Apartments in Appleton, where she resided.  She touched many lives and met many people throughout her time there.  More recently she worked at Manderfield's Bakery, where she was loved by many. Oddly enough, one of the first jobs that she worked as a teenager in England was at a bakery. And one of the last jobs that she had was at a bakery. She enjoyed spending time with her British friends who also lived in the Appleton area. Susie especially enjoyed time spent on her boat with Craig. She always enjoyed being by and on the water. They would sail off for a weekend and truly enjoy every moment of it.  She loved most of all spending time with friends and family. She was always ready with a cup of tea for anyone who needed anything.  She was a friend to everyone that she met and had a smile for whoever crossed her path. She was a lover of all animals, big and small, and had many pets throughout the years including being survived by her 20 year old cat, Mickey.  Susie was a member at First English Lutheran Church.

She will be missed by her son, Lee Reinking, Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Nikki (Tom) Strachota, Appleton; 3 stepchildren:  Susie (Gene) Keller, IN, Kaci Christensen, TX, and Steve(fiancée Jasmine) Christensen, WI; 7 grandchildren: Jake, Brittany(Jon), Nick, Alec(Zakary), Brandon(Emily), Alyssa, and Aidan; 3 step grandchildren:  Aubrey(Mike), Eddie, and Sofie; great grandchildren: Alyxis , Jackson, Maelee, Carson, Kady, and Ashton; brother, Billy  Hamer, England; and special niece and nephew, Jan and Rob Hoy and Colin and Anita Marriott.  She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Craig, 2 brothers:  Ron and Gilbert; sister Betty; and step granddaughter Katie.

A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, November 10, at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E. North St., Appleton, with Rev. Mary Bauer officiating.  Friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until 10:45 am.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
