Gwen passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at home. She was born on May 10, 1935, in Milwaukee, to the late Fred and Isola (Beck) Schneider. She married Richard on February 19, 1955, and they had 4 children.

She worked as a phone operator and a post office clerk in Milwaukee prior to the family moving to Wautoma in 1976. She lived on Sharon Lake and enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cribbage with her sisters and spending time with her family. She loved having her granddaughters come spend the night and was known for her stove top popcorn, treat drawer and always having her fridge stocked with everyone's favorite sodas. In later years she enjoyed playing the slot machines, drinking her diet coke and having a cigarette.

She will be greatly missed by her four children: Kathe Marquardt, Oshkosh, Mark (Pam) Marquardt, Redgranite, Kerri (Jay) Dehling, Oshkosh and Kristi Marquardt (Jim), Neenah; nine granddaughters: Michelle (Scott) Nickel, Amy Dahlke, Kaytlyn (Ryan) Kleineschay, Robyn (Kyle) Berwald, Bethany, Cheyenne, Haleigh and Drew Calaway, Jocelyn (Ben) Barwick; nine great grandchildren: Max, Maddy, Zach, Josh, Ava, Cameron, Rayna, Camden and Keaton.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; and seven siblings: Dolly, Pat, Art, LaRue, Fred, Martha and Grace.

A Funeral Service for Gwen will be held at 3 PM, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1 PM. She will be laid to rest at the Dakota Cemetery.
