Florus Schumacher, age 93, of Appleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 20, 2025.  Florus was born in Grand Chute on December 22, 1931, to the late Joseph and Wilhemina "Minnie" (Hooyman) Weyenberg.

Florus graduated with the class of 49 at Appleton High School.  On October 18th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Maurice Schumacher at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton.  The couple enjoyed 67 years together until Maurice's passing in 2017.

Florus enjoyed crafting, sewing, and knitting – but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a faithful member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Quilt Club and the Christian Mothers.

She will be missed by her four daughters:  Jean (Stephen) Russum, Machesney Park, IL, Jane Grinvalsky, McFarland, WI, JoAnn Heegeman, Appleton, and Marcia (Steve) Miller, Little Chute; son, Michael (Nancy) Schumacher, Menasha; thirteen grandchildren:  Kristina Russum, Rebecca Huffman, Erin Filsinger, Kevin Grinvalsky, Leah Grinvalsky, Jeffrey Heegeman, Gregorey Heegeman, Amy Menchl, Jennifer Garrison, Todd Schumacher, Tracy Evers, Steven Miller, and Andy Miller; 22 Great grandchildren; sister, Marlene Sutheimer, Merrill; 2 sisters-in-law:  Katie Schumacher, Appleton, and Leona Schumacher, Rhinelander; and brother-in-law, James (Donna) Schumacher, Kimberly.  She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Minnie, husband Maurice, 2 sisters:  Marion Schumacher and Lucille Jacobs; 3 brothers:  Joseph, Daniel, and William Weyenberg; son-in-law Philip Grinvalsky; 10 brothers-in-law:  Pete, Ray, Clarence, Harold, Joe, John, Marvin, and Eugene Schumacher, Melvin Sutheimer and Don Jacobs; and 2 sisters-in-law:  Rita Hoffman and Mildred Huss.

The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St. Appleton.  Friends may visit in the Sacred Heart Room at church on Monday from 9 am until 10:45 am.  Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
