Edward A. Hartfiel, age 82, passed away August 16, 2026. Edward was born in Fremont, Wisconsin to Harvey and Jeanice Hartfiel on May 12, 1944. He graduated from Weyauwega-Fremont High School in 1962. His first job was working for Weyauwega Cheese Company, then Appleton Papers, and finally a dispatcher/vice-president for 40+ years at Badger Highway Co. Inc. He was involved with the Appleton Boy Scout Troop 67 for 36 years. He enjoyed going on trips, fishing, playing golf, and polka dancing with his partner in life Alice.

Edward is survived by his partner Alice; his children: Brenda (Fred) Gall, Brian (Peggy) Hartfiel, and Barbara (Joey) McCoy; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Margaret (Roger) Kegel and sister-in-law Susan Hartfiel. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Jeanice Hartfiel, and his brother William Hartfiel.

A Memorial Service for Ed will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at BRETTSCHNEIDER TRETTIN NICKEL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 606 N Oneida Street, Appleton.  Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local cancer society.
