David H. Griesbach

81, Appleton, passed away on March 20, 2026. Dave was born on June 2, 1944, to the late Tony and Selma (Lautenschlager) Griesbach. He enjoyed growing up near Hortonville on the family farm with his six siblings. Dave graduated from Hortonville High School in 1962, and the very next day enlisted in the U.S. Marines;  proudly serving as a tank mechanic.

Dave married Charmaine C. Latimer July 10, 1971. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator. Upon retirement he enjoyed driving for the CopperLeaf Hotel. Dave enjoyed the outdoors: especially golfing and fishing. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Last July Dave went on the Old Glory Honor Flight with his daughter, landing at EAA Airventure; it was a memorable day.

Dave will be greatly missed by his wife, Char of 54 years; his son, Brian (fiancé Jo) Griesbach, Oshkosh and daughter, Marnie Griesbach, Appleton; siblings: Kieth (Marsha) Griesbach, Judy (Larry) Klitzke and Shari (Mike) Luchi; sister-in-law, Bonnie Griesbach; brothers-in-law: Richard Latimer and Tom (Connie) Latimer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Carol (Allan) Bohl, Tony (Joan) Griesbach and Jim Griesbach and his daughter-in-law, Amy Griesbach; brothers-in-law: Bill Latimer and Pat Latimer.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30 AM on Thurs. March 26, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Friends may visit the family Thursday directly at church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Interment will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton with Military Honors performed. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to the Alzheimer's Association or Missions of Honor.
