Cora L.
Griffith
Oct 2, 1952 — Sep 4, 2024
Appleton
Cora L. Griffith, 71 left this earth to go to her heavenly home on Wednesday September 4, 2024.
After a difficult battle with Alzheimer's, God welcomed her saying the words she longed to hear. "Well done, my good and faithful one, welcome to the place you belong."
We all lost one of the kindest and sweetest souls to ever walk the earth. She was known to many and loved by all. Cora took great pride in taking care of her home and gardens. She loved seeing all the birds flock to her feeders, especially the Orioles and Cardinals.
Cora retired from Shopko Pharmacy in Kimberly as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. In the many years she was employed for Shopko, she interacted with many people from the Kimberly community.
Once retired, Cora became a Monarch Butterfly Hobbyist. She enjoyed watching the process of caterpillar to butterfly. She shared this hobby with her neighbors Dawn and Grandma Mary. They spent countless hours together releasing the monarchs and watching them take flight.
Cora had many wonderful friends and many hobbies from reading, drawing, watercolors, antiquing, and a love of thrifting. She also cared for many dogs while their owners were off traveling. Cora would go out of her way to help you and make you feel comfortable, no matter your situation.
Cora was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Isabelle Griffith and her only brother Rob Jr. She is survived by her nephew Stryder (Jen) Lautenschlager and her niece Jazmine Lautenschlager. She is also survived by 8 great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 9:30-11:00, with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 at Brettschneider Trettin – Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 North Oneida St. Appleton, WI. Cora will be laid to rest with her family at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
A butterfly lights beside us, like a sun beam…and for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world…but then it flies on again, and although we wish it could have stayed, we are so thankful to have seen it at all. Author unknown.
