Chris J. Wynen, age 67, of Crooked Lake, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Chris was born in Appleton on March 18, 1959, to the late Joseph and Sandra (Steffen) Wynen.  Following school, at the age of 18, Chris proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany for three years.  He then transferred to the National Guard and remained active and inactive for an additional 40 years.

On September 11, 1982, he was united in marriage to Tammy Brunette in Appleton.  The couple enjoyed 44 years together.

Chris enjoyed model trains, Packer parties, touring on his motorcycle, and fishing. He was a life member of The Enlisted Association of the National Guard, member of the Crooked Trails ATV Club and the Crooked Lake Fire Department Auxiliary.

Chris will be missed by his wife, Tammy Wynen, Crooked Lake; daughter Charlotte Wynen, Appleton; son Barrett Wynen, Appleton; mother Sandra Wynen, Appleton; and 3 brothers:  Dan (Cat) Wynen, Nevada, Tony (Nancy) Wynen, Menasha, and William (Kaye) Wynen, Granton, WI.  He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Joseph, brother Michael, and sister Mary.
