Obituary

The world lost a true character, and the best outlaw ever on July 30th, and he will be greatly missed.

Chuck Writzmann born12-4-1944in Milwaukee, WI

Passed away in Appleton, WI peacefully last Friday after fighting a long, hard battle with leptomenegeal disease.

A world traveler, born in Wisconsin, resided in California, then settled in Colorado. He got to see so much of the world and because of his generosity so did many others. He loved golf, theater, music and good food. He enjoyed the life long friendships he made in Colorado, speaking especially highly of his golf buddies.

He touched many lives with his charm, kindness and zest for living life to the fullest. A free spirit, life of the party, there was never a dull moment and lots of laughter accompanied his great sense of humor.

Known to some as the "monopoly man" because of his fun mustache, dapper attire and his enjoyment of the finer things. Graciously, he was able to share and provide incredible experiences for many.

Later known as "Grandpa chuck chips", a nick-name fondly given to him by his great grandson who thought he resembled the Pringle's man.

Married twice, father to one daughter, Dana with Donna Potter and helping to raise three boys with Dorothy Mettee. He loved Danny, Thomas and Darren very much and was thankful to have buddies to share his love of fishing with.

He donated time and money to several organizations throughout his life. Women's shelters held a special place in his heart.

He worked odd jobs in his youth, attended college for geology and ultimately became an entrepreneur. He motivated, inspired and supported countless people to reach for their goals and make their dreams a reality.

Chuck grew up with his adopted sister Kathy Gladney who he loved and cared for. Later he had the opportunity to meet his biological brothers Dave Mayberry, John Mayberry and biological sister Sandy Koepell. It was a very special moment in his life, he was also blessed with many nieces and nephews.

His is survived by his daughter Dana Wrizmann-Deegan (Donavon), granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda, and great grandson Dante.

He had friends and family all over the country and truly loved so many (you know who you are)- too many to list.

The last couple of years were very hard for him. He was and his family is truly grateful to all who helped care for him. A world of gratitude is owed to the people who helped support and care for Dad and I.

In the infamous words of Chuckles, "drive fast, get there before anything happens…." You too Chuck, we love you.

There will be a celebration of his life gathering on Saturday, August 14th in Appleton, Wisconsin. If you would like to attend please text Dana920-268-8091for place and time.

Followed by a road trip to the Rockies.
