Carol Ann
Hartman (Floodstrand)
May 22, 1963 — Oct 4, 2024
Appleton
Carol Ann Hartman (Floodstrand), age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by friends and family. She was born on May 22, 1963 in Appleton to the late George and Geraldine (Schreiber) Floodstrand. Carol graduated with an Associate's Degree in Finance from Fox Valley Technical College and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from UW-Oshkosh. At the tech, she became involved with Business Professionals of America where she was a State and National officer and Alumni president and made many lifelong friends. As an alumni member, she helped future generations of business students by encouraging and mentoring them. She worked at Lake View Credit Union for many years and Pfefferle Management until her passing. Carol met Kenneth Hartman the first day she arrived at UW- Oshkosh while he was working the desk and checking her in to her room. They later married after many years of friendship on April 19, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton.
Carol was a lifelong member at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was a sacristan, coordinator, and eucharistic minister. She especially enjoyed coordinating the Christmas Eve Mass with her friend Terry Miller. Carol was in charge of the bake sale at the fall festival for 17 years and numerous other committees throughout the years. She was a fixture at the 4:00 mass.
Carol was the Queen of her neighborhood, often holding social gatherings for all to attend. She loved to have the neighborhood animals over to join. Carol never had pets growing up, but Ken gifted Carol with a Siamese cat "Angel" for her birthday whom she loved dearly. Carol and Ken would frequent Door County, usually with neighbors in tow, where Carol would add to her Angel Collection. She loved Christmas, especially decorating her tree and setting her nativity scenes. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family and dear friends; and missed her brother and parents tremendously.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Ken; her brother Tom (Cynthia) Floodstrand; aunts Utimia Floodstrand, Jeanne (Roger) McCaskey and Rebecca Hartman; nieces: Elizabeth Floodstrand, Alexandria Floodstrand, Kaylee McCaskey, and Alyssa McCaskey; nephews: Kyle (Shelby) Hartman, Joel Hartman, Jonathan (Annette) Huizenga, and Marshall McCaskey; great nephew Grayson Hartman; brothers-in-law Andrew Hartman and Matthew (Rebecca) Hartman; and many cousins, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother William Floodstrand; aunts Lois Floodstrand and Mary Jo Jarvis; and uncle Fred Floodstrand.
A funeral service for Carol will be held at 12 NOON, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at SAINT JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 404 W Lawrence Street, with Brother Ray Stadmeyer officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. Joseph Parish Homeless Initiative Fund.
Carol accepted the opportunity to donate her tissue and organs in hopes others will do the same to save lives, even if it is only one.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Carol and her family.
