Age 89, of Pewaukee, passed away peacefully at her home (in Appleton, WI) on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022. Carol was born in Waukesha on November 8, 1932, to the late Frederick and Sylvia (Casey) Katzung. Following graduation at Pewaukee High School, Carol was united in marriage to Edward D. Gehrke, the love of her life. The couple enjoyed 51 years together until Edwards passing on October 11, 2003. Carol loved gardening, the outdoors – especially hunting, fishing, and camping. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing board games and cards - but most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was greatly cared for by her loving family.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Pamela (J.D. Jr) Grishaber, Appleton; three sons: Edward (Judith) Gehrke, West Allis, James Gehrke of Muskego, and Robert Gehrke, Rockford; many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and a sister, Susan (Dennis) Fogel, Florida.

She was preceded by her parents, her husband, her loving daughter Debra, and 2 brothers: Frederick "Skip" and Richard Katzung.

Per Carol's wishes, no services will be held.
