Obituary

Bruce Arthur Feurig, age 77, passed away on July 11, 2026, at his home after battling pancreatic cancer.

Bruce was born on February 22, 1949 in New London, WI, the son of Gustav A. and Elizabeth A. (Beckman) Feurig. He graduated from New London High School in 1967, then from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in 1973 with a degree in Business Administration. After graduation, Bruce worked in the construction industry for 10 years before building a career in the financial planning industry until his retirement in 2020. He owned and operated Feurig Financial Services for 35 years and was a trusted advisor and friend to his clients. Throughout it all, he was joined by his wife, Mary, who served as his right hand, working by his side and supporting him in every aspect of the business.

Bruce was an accomplished athlete in high school and enjoyed coaching and watching his children and grandchildren in their many sporting and music endeavors. You could find him on the soccer fields in summers and at various hockey rinks all winter for many years. He was president of the St. Thomas More Board of Education, treasurer of the Appleton Soccer Club, a board member of the Appleton Ice, and a dedicated fundraiser for his children's school.

His greatest joy was being a Grandpa, spending time with his family on the ski slopes, camping, boating, and especially fishing. He cherished the time he spent with Mike, whether competing together in fishing tournaments, heading out on the water at dawn, or sharing stories around the campfire. Those moments together meant the world to him. Bruce loved all sports and faithfully followed the Packers, Bucks, Badgers, and Brewers throughout his life. He was also an avid gardener who found peace in tending to his yard. He especially took pride in his long‑stem roses.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary (Tease); his son, Michael (Tara) Feurig; and Jennifer Hazaert, who came into his life as a stepdaughter. Bruce never saw her that way. She was simply his daughter. He loved and cherished her as his own, teaching her to ski, sharing countless good times and laughs with her and her friends, and always offering his unwavering support. One of her fondest memories will be hearing him sing, with a smile, "You can't always get what you want."  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jacob Hazaert and Elizabeth "Ellie" Hazaert, who lovingly called him "Bumpa," and Raegan Feurig, who knew him as "Guk."

He is further survived by his sister, Sandra Murphy (Tom Goetz); brother, Ted (Deb) Feurig; and his niece and Goddaughter, Heidi Feurig. Bruce is also survived by brothers-in-law Tom (Sue) Tease and Jim (Juli) Tease; sister-in-law Kathy (Rich) Wallace; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack (Nancy) Feurig; father- and mother-in-law, Ken and Marilyn Tease; and brother-in-law, Bill Tease.
