Bradley J. 'Maverick' Cornelius
52, Appleton, passed away, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a brief illness. He was born in Green Bay, WI on December 16, 1970. He came into the world a Proud Member of the Oneida Nation, Maverick and was proud to be the 3rd Generation in his family to serve in the U.S.M.C, proudly following in the footsteps of the man he called Dad, Russell Barnes. His time in the Corps included tours to Desert Storm and most proudly a Presidential Guard. He was a member of many organizations that give back to the community including: VFW, Cooties, Fleet Reserve, American Legion, Moose Lodge, B.P.O.E. Elks Club. He was proud to be part of and called a brother with the DC Eagles MC for twenty plus years. For many years he was also very involved in the St. Baldrick's organization.
He was an avid lover of sports, especially: New York Yankees, Nascar, Packers, and Badgers. He was a huge fan of the Dan Patrick show, so much so that he stopped to visit the headquarters in Connecticut. Recently he learned to play golf which he did frequently and quickly gained a love for the game.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Amy; his children that he loved with all his heart daughter: Brandi Morningstar Cornelius and her son Storm J. Cornelius; a son Commodore LoneWolf Cornelius and Alyssa (Michael) Locati as well as her children. Family members include his mother: Sandra (Bernie) Hawpetoss; father, Wendall Cornelius; siblings: Michelle (Richard) Rutues, Wendell Cornelius Jr, Danny (Linda) Cornelius, Steven 'Renegade (Yvette 'Skittles') Cornelius, and many other extended family members.
For the past five years Maverick has been full time traveling with his wife Amy. Whenever they arrived in a new town, Maverick always had to visit the nearest VFW or Legion. His second stop was at the local Irish Pub, this is because of the many friends he made at the Irish Pub in Appleton, after all that is where he met and married his wife.
The family wishes to thank all his family, brothers, comrades, friends and acquaintances he met on his journey through life. He was loved and respected by the many people he met and knew.
A Memorial Service for Maverick will be held at Noon on Sat. July 1, 2023, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon Gerry Schraufnagel officiating followed by Military Honors. Friends and family may visit from 10 AM until the time of service.
