Barbara "Barb" Regina Greene, age 76, of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. She was born on October 28, 1947, to the late Sigfried and Regina (Reinbold) Goetz in Bismarck, North Dakota. Barb worked for many years in manufacturing at Fox River Paper Company, Rayovac, and Pensar. She went back to college, earning her certificate and working for years at the Harbor House, a shelter for women survivors and their children of domestic and sexual violence, where she felt a strong sense of giving back to others who needed help and support.

Barb enjoyed cooking, breadmaking, baking cakes, watching parades, Facebook, reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels, watching scary movies, and doing word puzzles. She listened to a variety of music: Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Glenn Campbell, The Monkeys, Pavorotti and Tom Petty. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family.

Barb is survived by her children: Dan Greene and Chelsea Greene. Four brothers and sisters survive Barb: Bill (Marilyn) Goetz, Joe (Cathy) Goetz, Fred (Diane) Goetz and Gina Wellman. Her other sister, Marge Docherty, recently passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, and former husband Walter Greene.

A memorial service for Barb will be held at 12 NOON on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Brettschneider Trettin Nickel Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida Street, Appleton with Deacon Gerry Schraufnagel officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:00am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow.

Barb's life was enriched by dozens of her "little angels" over the years helping care for her, and the family would like to thank all of them, starting with Teresa Verhoven, who formed a special relationship with Barb and worked tirelessly to help clean and care for her. The family also wishes to thank ThedaCare, Dr. Idhe and the staff at Encircle Health in Appleton, Erica, the doctor's nurse, Angie Benke and Ida, nurses who care for Barb from wound care, Julie Fries, Andrea from the ADRC, Kara Koller and Ann Olejnik from Community Care, Smith Pharmacy and staff, St. Paul Elder Services, Cindy Kusserow for the in-home hair care, the Kaukauna Fire Department, the hospice nurses: Angie Price and Christina Cease, and the staff at Cherry Meadows: Brock, Karen, Natalie and Maddie for their care and compassion in helping Barb pass from this life to the next.

Barb's family wishes to convey their appreciation at the highest level words can express to all of these "little angels" for their help over the years.
