Audrey Jean Bobber, age 94, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, September 6,2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.  She was born to the late George Albert and Pearl Kathleen (Luther) Schuessler on September 13, 1928, in Fond du Lac, WI.  Her father had an appliance store, and her grandfather had a German Beer Garden.  The family lost the store and their home after the great depression and moved to Appleton WI when she was 5 years old.  Audrey had a happy childhood growing up in Appleton where she attended many different grade schools and graduated from Appleton West High School.  During her senior year she worked after school at the telephone company as an operator.  There she first met the love of her life as he was working for Western Electric installing new equipment at the time.  Her future husband went off to college at Ohio State University but returned to marry Audrey the day after Christmas in 1949.  They started their family with 3 boys born on campus all while Art was finishing school.  Audrey had many fond and funny memories of scraping by and having to make do with cramped quarters and little money.

After college the family settled in the Milwaukee area where Art started a small sales business ABCO Air Inc.   Audrey did the office work, and they were able to spend many happy days together.

Audrey was most devoted to her family and friends and was always excited to be able to help and encourage.  She will be deeply missed for that.

Audrey is survived by her son John (Nancy) Bobber; grandchildren: Erin (Chris) Friedrich, Anna Bobber (special friend David Primus), Timothy Bobber (special friend Agustina Bosio), Amy Hanson, Becky, Courtney, and Jed; great grandchildren: Xaiver Hanson, Hudson and Everett Friedrich; and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur; her sons Joseph Bobber and Stephen Bobber; and her siblings Mary Jane, Geroge Jr, and Jerome (Jerry).

A Funeral Mass for Audrey will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W Lawrence St, Appleton with Brother Ray Stadmeyer O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
